About pepita

pepita is an iPhone and Android app that scans Pokémon cards and shows their Cardmarket price in euros, for French-speaking collectors with a binder, a box or a bulk lot of cards to sort. It is free, with 20 free scans a day.

The app interface is currently in French.

What pepita does

Scan a card with the camera

Point the camera at the card and pepita identifies its set, number, printing and language. No more hunting for the number in a catalogue by hand: the scan replaces the minute each card used to take.

Show the Cardmarket price in euros

The amount shown is the Cardmarket trend, Europe’s reference marketplace — an average of recent sales, not one seller’s asking price. Standard, reverse holo and holo each have their own price.

Track the value of a collection

Every scanned card can join a collection whose total value is updated with each price reading. The collection stays stored on the device.

See which cards are moving

The Top Movers tab ranks the biggest risers and fallers of the week or the month, printing by printing. The same reading is published every week, free to read, as the Pokémon card market this week.

pepitacards.com, the same data as public pages

The most expensive cards ranking, free tools to identify and value a card and, in French, prices set by set and a directory of the shops that buy cards. Every price carries its source and the date it was read.

What makes pepita different

A Cardmarket price in euros, free every day

pepita gives 20 free scans a day, Cardmarket price included, with no subscription. The optional Premium subscription lifts the daily limit: €7.99 a month or €47.99 a year, on iPhone. On PokéCardex, unlimited scanning also requires a subscription, Plus.

A European price, never converted

pepita shows Cardmarket in euros, the market a card actually sells on in France. Dex aggregates TCGplayer, Cardmarket, CardTrader and eBay and then converts into your currency; TCGplayer starts from its own American marketplace, in dollars, and Collectr does not name its price source.

Printings kept apart

Standard, reverse holo and holo are three separate products on Cardmarket. pepita suggests the printing it detected and lets you correct it in one tap — mixing up the first two is the largest silent pricing error there is.

An interface in French

Collectr and TCGplayer are English-only on the French App Store. pepita is designed in French, and recognises cards in seven languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and simplified Chinese.

Built for bulk, not just for the big cards

One-euro cards are not filtered out: they are exactly the ones to pull out of a lot sold by weight.

Who pepita is for

  • Adults who find their childhood binder and want to know what it is worth.
  • Parents sorting a child’s collection before selling it or putting it away.
  • Buyers of lots sold by weight, looking for the few cards worth more than the rest.
  • Occasional sellers on Vinted, Leboncoin or Cardmarket who need to set a price.
  • French collectors who want a European price without going through an English-language app.

The team behind pepita

pepita is published by Mathis Grosjean.

The project started in 2026 from a simple observation: the big cards already have their apps, and unpriced bulk has none. The name comes from pépite, French for nugget — the card worth something at the bottom of a box of commons.
