The calculation assumes a well-shuffled deck. The 60-card format comes from the official Pokémon TCG rules. Probabilities describe repeated outcomes, not a prediction.
How the result is calculated
The calculator uses the hypergeometric distribution: drawing without replacement from a finite deck. It subtracts the probability of drawing zero copies from 100%. Search effects, Prize cards and mulligans are not modelled.
Frequently asked questions
What does 39.9% mean?
With four copies in a 60-card deck, about 40 in 100 opening hands contain at least one copy. It does not predict the next game.
What should cards drawn or seen include?
Use 7 for an opening hand, 8 after the first draw, then the total number seen since the game began.
Does it account for Prize cards?
No. It assumes every copy starts in the deck. If known cards have been removed, reduce the deck size and remaining copies.
