Our read of the Pokémon card market on 26 October 2026: a neutral call leaning up, with the index of the 250 most valuable cards at +14.3% over 30 days.

The short answer

As of 26 October 2026, by our rule, the Pokémon card market is neutral, leaning up. The index of the 250 most valuable cards is up 14.3% over 30 days, and 54% of cards worth €5 or more are above their 30-day average. A bull market would also need a larger share of cards above their average.

  • Neutral Our call on the whole market, by our rule
  • +14.3% The index of the 250 most valuable cards over 30 days
  • 54% Of cards worth €5+ above their 30-day average
  • 494 / 410 Cards at a 5-week high / 5-week low

The index climbs, fewer cards come along

The top-250 index is up 14.3% over 30 days. Underneath, it is quieter. Breadth is 54%, down from 56% a week ago. 494 cards hit a 5-week high and 410 hit a 5-week low. That keeps the market neutral, leaning up. Our read: the rising index is not enough to call a broad rally while breadth is slipping. As long as breadth keeps slipping, we don't see a bull market.

EX and E-Card lead tracked eras' euro gains

The EX era is up 21.3% over 30 days, or €16,939, the biggest euro gain among tracked eras. E-Card follows with €10,479 (+30.4%). Skyridge does the heavy lifting: €9,380 gained, first among comparable sets. Its Charizard is up 57.2% in 30 days to €4,918.35, and its Gengar nearly doubled in 7 days to €8,742.83. On the EX side, Mudkip ☆ (Team Rocket Returns) gained €3,674 over 30 days to €8,414.17 (+77.5%), first among cards worth €20+ whose moves stay between −50% and +100%. Our read: EX and E-Card remain the eras to watch for this rally. A slowdown in Skyridge would make us more cautious.

Not every Gold Star is rising

Torchic ☆ (Team Rocket Returns) hit a 5-week high at €7,224.84, well above its previous top of €5,970.93. Over 30 days, Groudon Star (Delta Species) is up 72.0% and Alakazam ☆ (Crystal Guardians) 72.1%. Over those same 30 days, Dragon Frontiers lost €1,716, the biggest euro loss among comparable sets. Its Charizard ☆ δ is down 24.0% to €3,859.76 and Mew ☆ δ down 36.3%, both over 30 days. Our read: the EX era is rising, but buyers are picking card by card. The declines in Charizard ☆ δ and Mew ☆ δ could reflect profit-taking, while Groudon Star and Alakazam ☆ keep climbing.

Our calls are still pending

The 20 October read is 6 of 30 days in, with the index up 1.9% since publication. The 14 October read is also pending, 12 of 30 days in, with the index up 7.9%. Our read: Mega Evolution's decline already challenges our earlier neutral call. The era is down 15.7% over 30 days, Ascended Heroes down 23.7% and Mega Charizard Y ex down 48.2% to €258.03. We are now bearish. Over 30 days, Scarlet & Violet also lost €1,767, the biggest euro loss among tracked eras. We expect the recent sets to keep falling.
